Abstract

Now days, all over the world there’s a concern on finding a meeting point between the environmental care and industry economic development. Chemical industry, the one in charge of cosmetics formulation and manufactory, is one of world’s most polluting. Colombia’s chemical industry is not left behind. Most of the cosmetics’ industries use petroleum derivates, which turns activities such productive process and the product’s final disposition into something tremendously damaging for environment. Similarly, these dangerous chemicals end up being harmful for humans’ health. Therefore, in Caribbean Beauty we wanted to bring up with some alternatives to content women’s desire of decorating themselves and take care of their skin, but avoiding affecting human’s heath or environmental care, consequently, we wanted to exploit the best properties of some of the Caribbean coast fruits of Colombia (such as coconut, ‘mamey’, passion fruit, and others) to create eco and human-friendly products, and at the same time impulse local economy development and culture. Caribbean Beauty cares about development and local economy of Colombia’s Caribbean region, with that in mind, our exclusive providers are farmers from Caribbean area. We want our brand to stand out for being proud of Colombia, for highlighting our richness and diversity of our land, taking care of it through a sustainable production system.
