Abstract
The project aims to find the relationship between environmental awareness and solid waste management in the Puente Piedra district in 2024. Using a quantitative approach, a non-experimental and correlational design was carried out, with a sample of 384 people, collecting data through a validated questionnaire that evaluated the dimensions of both variables. The reliability of the instrument was established with a Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0,85 for the environmental awareness variable and 0,91 for solid waste management, which ensures internal consistency in the responses. The findings indicated a moderate positive correlation (Spearman's Rho of 0,429) between environmental awareness and solid waste management, confirming that a higher level of environmental awareness is associated with better waste management. The majority of respondents, 82,03%, demonstrate a medium level of environmental awareness, while 89,32% reflect a medium level in solid waste management. In summary, although there is evidence of a significant relationship between both variables, structural and cultural obstacles persist that hinder their effective implementation. It is recommended to strengthen environmental education initiatives and optimize the infrastructure for collection and recycling in the district.
