Abstract
Social networks in the privacy of society in the digital sphere is important today, being a complex issue that requires a multidisciplinary approach, implementation of legal and technological measures. The objective was to examine social networks, which have changed the way we share personal information and interact online, identifying the violation of the privacy of people who access them. The PRISMA methodology was essential to rigorously collect and evaluate the relevant information, allowing an accurate and understandable synthesis of the results. There is a need to ensure accuracy and objectivity in data collection and analysis using Scopus and Scielo databases. Data protection results in India are lagging behind other countries, it is important to establish a solid legal framework in this area. Mention is made of the concept of "right to be forgotten" implemented in the European Union as a commendable measure that gives individuals a second chance and protects their reputation. Finally, in Latin America, countries such as Chile, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Uruguay have established laws that ensure the protection of consumers' personal data, emphasizing the importance of consent for data processing. The social landscape of social networks is based on shared emotions and generates virtual communities through the distribution of memes and humorous content. The need to balance freedom of expression with the protection of brands is debated.
