Abstract
The purpose of the research is the incorporation of a recycled material that allows to increase the resistance properties of the concrete and its influence in the reduction of the thickness of the rigid pavement obtained with the design values of the project "Optimization of the Section of the Old Pan-American Highway South, Section: Arica - Santa María del Mar; Areas: Lurín, Puntas Hermosa and Negra, San Bartolo and Santa María del Mar, Province of Lima - Lima", completed in 2019. For this reason, through a quantitative method, by means of pure experimental design, applying laboratory tests, the Can Fiber (CF) was used in proportions of 0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75 and 1% respect to the weight of the cement, incorporated into the design of the mixture of resistance f'c = 420 kg / cm2 and Modulus of Rupture (MR) of 48 kg / cm2 with a pavement thickness of 27 cm. 50 cylindrical specimens were analyzed for the f'c and 50 beams for the MR, 10 samples for each percentage of FL, concluding that the incorporation of recycled can fiber increases the f'c and MR resistance properties at 28 days, with a reduction in the thickness of the rigid pavement up to 6.29% with FL at 1%, however, other studies are warranted to verify the cost benefit of implementing this method.
