Abstract
This study analyzed how access to financial resources and participation in support networks enable rural women to achieve empowerment and how these factors help to overcome gender inequality. The article was developed under a qualitative approach using interviews with members of a communal textile production organization. The results showed that women have certain limitations in accessing financial resources compared to men; however, training has allowed women to enter the world of microfinance, increasing their participation in leadership and decision-making roles. In addition, the credit network has allowed the organizations' economies to grow and become sustainable. It is concluded that access to resources and collective support are key to reducing gender inequality and empowering women in rural areas
