Abstract

In recent decades, the Peruvian fishing sector has been considered a significant driver of the economy. This timely research aims to determine the behavior of exports in the Peruvian fishing sector by analyzing the diversification of its destination markets and exporting companies from 2000 to 2022. Regarding methodology, the study was basic, quantitative, and descriptive, with a cross-sectional, non-experimental approach. The method of documentary review was employed as a tool to gather data on the destination markets and exporting companies of the fishing sector recorded in SUNAT over a 22-year period starting from 2000. To evaluate diversification, an indicator known as the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI) was used.
