Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the relationship between motivating factors and academic performance in English language among students of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at the National University of Callao in 2023. The study, of a basic type, was designed as non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational, with the participation of 91 students enrolled in the courses of Technical English I (18), English II (44), and Technical English for Strategic Marketing (29) of the 2023-B semester. Statistical tests were used, including the t-test which showed an F-value p of 2.026 and a bilateral significance value of 0.653, indicating the lack of significant differences between the variances of the two samples. Various dimensions of motivating factors were explored, revealing non-normal distributions in the high levels of academic performance in the biological, behavioral, cognitive, affective, and ethical dimensions. These findings provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between specific motivating factors and academic performance, guiding future research and intervention strategies to improve academic performance in the faculty. Keywords: Motivational factors, academic performance.
