Abstract

The general objective of this research was to determine how maintenance management influences the productivity of a metal-mechanical company in Chimbote. The methodology used was applied, quantitative approach and pre-experimental design. As results, it was initially determined that the average time between failures indicator was 21 hours, the average time to repair indicator was 12.67 hours, the availability indicator obtained a total of 62.33%, the performance indicator was 83.62%, the quality was 74.74%, and the OEE came out 39.01%, likewise, the efficiency dimension was 77.55% and in the effectiveness dimension it was 76.86%, being very low indicators; For this, preventive maintenance management was applied where the implementation of machine maintenance protocols included both calibration and preventive measures, a preventive maintenance schedule was developed based on the average time between machine failures, the 5S methodology and a training plan was developed. In conclusion, it was found that efficiency increased by 17.55% and effectiveness increased by 18.52%, implying that now the metalworking company fulfills its orders within the established time.
