Therefore, the objective of this research is to describe the productivity of the 5s methodology in companies in the commerce sector in Latin America in the last 10 years. The search for articles and/or magazines was carried out on scientific databases: Dialnet, Redalyc, Scorpus, Jstor, Scielo. The eligibility criteria were: 5s methodology, commerce sector, quality management, and lean manufacturing. Likewise, the inclusion and exclusion criteria are used, including periods of publication, country of publication, study method, and others with the Prisma research method. These studies were made up of 40 publications, including articles and magazines. The analysis carried out allowed us to demonstrate methods that are used in different areas of the commercial sector, such as 5s methodology, lean manufacturing, since in various articles and magazines collected, these methods are mentioned as an effective complement in companies and control the capacity of the resources. It is concluded that companies use the 5s methodology, in addition to Lean Manufacturing, which is part of Quality Management to maximize efficiency in workplaces and serve as an implementation guide for critical areas of the various companies. Finally, the most significant points of the 5S methodology are discussed in the development of personnel and their relationships with others, as well as in promoting discipline, self-control and increasing work efficiency.
