Abstract

The work deals with the design of a database model for the management of soup kitchens, as actors for humanitarian intervention in case of disasters. The soup kitchens are groups self-managed by the inhabitants, belonging to the poorest communities of the city, which provide food to their associates. This activity is carried out with the support of institutional entities such as the Peruvian Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (MIDIS), municipalities, NGOs and local churches. Based on the diagnosis and mapping of processes, the food supply, production and distribution services in the Covid 19 scenario were characterized. The most critical points in the process of supplying canteens and the logistical challenges involved were identified. The project was developed in two districts of Lima, Capital of Peru: Lurin and San Juan de Miraflores. The work was done with the participation of food supply actors at all levels: authorities, canteen leaders and final beneficiaries. A database design is proposed for process management to improve the process of control of the supply and distribution of goods in case of disasters.
