Abstract
This article describes the modeling of the food input procurement process to improve traceability in shrimp production through Blockchain. The process was improved through modeling with the Business Process Management (BPM) methodology from the AS-IS model that allows detecting redundant or repetitive activities that negatively impact the process. The TO-BE model captures the improvements automated through a web application that allows recording and managing the food procurement process, relying on distributed accounting technology better known as Blockchain (Blockchain). Our method allows us to capture the functional and technical requirements aligned to the business needs. We applied this method in a case study where we have implemented the intelligent contracts (definitions of the structures to be exchanged during the transactions), the business logic with optimized rules, and the materialization of the transactions in the Blockchain. As a result, we obtain an automated process through a WEB application with Blockchain traceability, which offers consumers security, availability, and reliability of the information of origin and characteristics of the product, promoting continuous improvement in organizations.
