Abstract
This article shows the design of an ecological house as an alternative economic solution to a conventional house in the city of Cajamarca. Both houses were designed in a total area of 150 m2 of which only 70% was used for the built area, leaving a free area of 30% according to the Peruvian Standard. These dwellings had the same architectural distribution. After preparing the plans of both houses, we proceeded to calculate the quantities of materials and labor for the construction of each of the houses using spreadsheets. Likewise, budgets were prepared with a cost program. Finally, the budget of each house was obtained, comparing both budgets, from which it was obtained that the ecological house is cheaper than the conventional house in more than 40%, due to the environmentally friendly materials that were used in the house. ecological.
