Abstract
Higher Education Institutions have been subjected for several decades to tensions generated by a series of challenges of a social, political, economic, and technological nature. Although the concept of "University" emerged almost a millennium ago, the current model dates back a couple of centuries and, in Argentina, from the 1918 Reform. However, today that model is in crisis, and it is pertinent to analyze which are the current challenges and how to face them in order to keep the university institution relevant in modern society. This article will analyze in detail what these challenges are and how to face them based on relevant methodologies and appropriate technologies.
