Minute Thesis)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">For <strong>2026<\/strong>, LACCEI announces the <strong>3MT\u00ae in Engineering Education (EE)<\/strong> category, aimed at <strong>Master\u2019s and Doctoral theses in Engineering Education<\/strong>, within the framework of the international Three Minute Thesis (3MT\u00ae) initiative, created by the University of Queensland in 2008, and currently conducted in more than 900 universities across over 85 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The competition is jointly coordinated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/eed.eng.ufl.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Florida<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.tamu.edu\/mtde\/index.html\">Texas A&amp;M University<\/a>, and LACCEI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This category is intended for research that contributes to the <strong>improvement, transformation, and evaluation of engineering education processes<\/strong>, including pedagogical, curricular, technological, and societal impact perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The goal of LACCEI 3MT\u00ae \u2013 Engineering Education (EE) is for participants to communicate the results and contributions of their research in a maximum of three minutes, using clear and accessible language for a non-specialist academic audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Important note:<\/strong> <\/span>The Engineering Education (EE) category provides academic recognition and official LACCEI certification, but is not associated with the Dr. Leonardo Alcayhuaman Acostupa Award nor the Dr. Priamo Rodr\u00edguez Castillo Award, which are exclusively granted under the Engineering Research and Engineering Practice (ER\/EP) category.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recognition in the Engineering Education (EE) Category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the 3MT\u00ae \u2013 Engineering Education (EE) category, <strong>separate academic recognition will be granted for each academic level<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a Engineering Education<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conftool.pro\/laccei2026\/index.php?page=newPaper&amp;form_contributiontypeID=76&amp;newpaper=true\">Academic Recognition for the Best <strong>Doctoral Thesis <\/strong>in Engineering Education<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each recognition will be awarded to the thesis that achieves the highest evaluation score within its respective category (Master\u2019s or Doctoral), based on the established evaluation criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These recognitions include official LACCEI certification and international academic visibility within the 3MT\u00ae framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Important clarification:<\/strong> The Engineering Education (EE) category provides independent recognition for Master\u2019s and Doctoral theses, but is not associated with the Dr. Leonardo Alcayhuaman Acostupa Award nor the Dr. Priamo Rodr\u00edguez Castillo Award, which are exclusively granted under the Engineering Research and Engineering Practice (ER\/EP) category.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Presentation Rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Theses defended in <strong>2024, 2025, or 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free of charge and 100% virtual<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximum presentation time: 3 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One single static slide (no animations or transitions)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuous video, no editing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spoken presentation only<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No props or additional electronic media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The jury\u2019s decision class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear presentation of the problem and\/or objective in engineering education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clearly explained methodology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant and well-communicated results and conclusions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2) Engagement and Communication:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear speech and language appropriate for a non-specialist audience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proper use of the required slide template<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to capture and maintain audience attention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scope of the Engineering Education (EE) Category<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3MT in Engineering Education (EE) is aimed at theses whose primary contribution is educational, that is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The object of study is engineering education, including teaching and learning processes, assessment, academic management, or professional formation in engineering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The impact is educational, formative, institutional, or social, associated with improving the quality, equity, relevance, or effectiveness of engineering education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engineering as a technical discipline is not the main focus, although it may serve as the context of the study (for example, a specific course, program, or laboratory).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples of EE topics include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Curricular and pedagogical innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning assessment and outcomes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accreditation and quality assurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remote, virtual, and hybrid laboratories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distant and online education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artificial intelligence and educational technologies for teaching and learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recruitment and retention in engineering education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management and quality assurance in engineering education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethics and Society in Engineering Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Government, Industry, and University relations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u274c <strong>Not EE<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Technical development of a system, algorithm, or technology <strong>without an explicit educational objective<\/strong> (this belongs to<strong> ER\/EP)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technological optimization or performance improvement where the primary contribution is technical rather than educational.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Studies where education is only a secondary application or dissemination context, and not the central research focus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alignment with LACCEI 2026 (EE):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3MT\u2013EE submissions must align with one or more Engineering Education (EE) tracks defined in the LACCEI 2026 Call for
