Abstract
This research analyzes the relationship between downtime and textile production processes in SMEs at the Humboldt Gallery in Gamarra during the year 2025. The textile sector is a key industry for the economy, generating jobs, innovation, and competitiveness. However, textile companies face various challenges, such as operational inefficiency resulting from downtime in their production processes. This study aligns with SDG 9, which promotes sustainable industrialization and the optimization of resource use. The internal and external causes of downtime are analyzed, as well as their impact on operating costs and company productivity. The research proposes the application of methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and TPM to improve efficiency and reduce lost time, thus strengthening competitiveness. The findings highlight the importance of efficient time management in production, as downtime directly affects product costs and quality. It is concluded that the implementation of continuous improvement and operational management strategies can significantly contribute to reducing downtime, promoting the sustainability and growth of the textile sector in Gamarra.
