Abstract
The purpose of this project is to reduce costs in the plating area of an industrial plastics MSE through a maintenance improvement plan. Using the TQM (Total Quality Management) methodology, the project followed seven stages: initial diagnosis, establishment of objectives, team building, process development, implementation of indicators, change management, and continuous review. The results included the identification and reduction of defects in the production of metalized films, reduced production costs, and improved quality of the final product. A continuous monitoring system and a periodic audit program were implemented, and personnel were trained in TQM principles. The project has highlighted the importance of preventive and predictive maintenance, demonstrating that their implementation can reduce 10% of costs and improve product quality. It has highlighted the need to follow a structured methodology for process improvement and alignment with the requirements of the Quality Management System, according to ISO 9001:2015, which ensures consistency and quality in production. The implications of this knowledge include the reduction in operating costs, increased efficiency and customer satisfaction, and the company's ability to remain competitive.
