Abstract
This quantitative study examines the impact of the Multipartite Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the European Union on the competitiveness of Ecuadorian chocolate exports. Using the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA), we analyze the evolution of Ecuadorian chocolate's competitive position in the European market before and after the agreement came into force. The results show that, while the agreement has created opportunities for the Ecuadorian chocolate sector, challenges related to quality, sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, and trade promotion still persist. The conclusions of this research offer valuable implications for the formulation of public policies aimed at strengthening the competitive position of Ecuadorian chocolate in the global market and maximizing the benefits of the trade agreement.
