Abstract

The pandemic has driven digital transformation processes in companies worldwide, in which organizations from different industries are forced to implement digital technology solutions, automated and efficient processes to be more competitive in a changing environment. In this regard, this study seeks to understand the phenomenon of digital transformation in the internationalization of manufacturing SMEs in Latin America, 2019 - 2022. The methodology used is a systematic review of the literature with a qualitative approach. Academic sources found in Scopus, Scielo, Mendeley among others are represented into PRISMA Declaration as a used method. The first objective is to identify the main technologies adopted by manufacturing SMEs to drive internationalization. The second one is to understand how changes in the business models of manufacturing SMEs in Latin America have driven the digital transformation to internationalize; and the third one is to analyze the role of knowledge factor management within manufacturing SMEs in Latin America in relation to digital transformation and its impact on internationalization. This study concludes that digital transformation is important for manufacturing companies that seek to internationalize in Latin America, because it allows them to adapt to new market demands and be competitive, by using digital technologies that improve their internal and external processes that allow them to expand to new territories.
