Abstract
The manufacturing sector dedicated to the production of leather is of the utmost importance, because it boosts a large number of tannery companies that boost economic growth in Trujillo province and Peru. However, its processing produces effluents with high concentrations of pollutants that enter into the sewerage system. Therefore, the purpose of this article was to analyze, by type of effluent, various physical-chemical treatments applied in 23 research works, to propose a treatment system for proper discharge to the sewerage based on quantitative assessment. As a result, it was identified that the most analyzed effluents were soaking, peeling, tanning and total. Likewise, 5 investigations were selected: Ceron, Castillo & Lopez, Martinez, Montoya & Silencio, and Ortiz, who obtained good and excellent efficiencies in the reduction of parameters such as COD, SST, chromium and sulfides by applying precipitation treatments, coagulation-flocculation, filtration, homogenization and grease trap, achieving compliance with the Peruvian regulations of LMP and VMA. The proposal was economically viable and timely to build, focuses on the treatment of 4 effluents and complies with regulations, also promotes the care of the sanitary infrastructure and provides a solution to companies against possible economic sanctions
