Abstract

In the municipality of Colinas Santa Bárbara the coffee activity is one of the main economic activities of its inhabitants that has grown during the last years, the production has become greater and its commercialization has diversified not only to the coffee in gold but already packed and ground ready to prepare, the reason why the producers must resort in search of suppliers to carry out part of its final processing as it is the Roasted, ground and packed. The objective of this research is to carry out an evaluation of suppliers that provide coffee processing services in the Colinas Santa Barbara area, based on the Fuzzy TOPSIS method. The methodology to be used for the selection of suppliers is the one proposed by (Gupta et al., 2022) where the global weight of the main factors and secondary factors is applied for the selection of the best logistics supplier. To carry out this evaluation, we will rely on the criteria of 3 experts in the logistics area, who have knowledge of the activities in the Colinas Santa Barbara area. The Fuzzi Topsis method is a tool that helps the evaluation of suppliers by reducing subjectivity. The supplier with the best results was the Honduran Coffee Institute, due to the trajectory and good practices that it has managed over the years, but it is not the most economical option for the producers in the Colinas Santa Bárbara area since it has to travel to another department to process the coffee.
