Abstract
Today, many tasks that were previously carried out by workers in different companies have begun to be automated, especially in the field of security, among other areas. In this context, the following study presents the design and implementation of a cooperative cleaning system based on an autonomous robot, whose objective is to support cleaning staff in various higher education institutions. This system is designed to work in collaboration with cleaning staff in various institutional spaces, promoting effective interaction between the human operator and the machine. The user survey revealed a high level of acceptance of these systems, despite the lack of prior contact or in-depth knowledge. The modular design of the system, which includes components such as Raspberry Pi 3, ESP32, various sensors, and webcams, allows it to be adapted to commercial robots and facilitates human-computer interaction to optimize cleaning tasks. The usability evaluation presents a score of 74.7 out of 100, validating its good acceptance and positive user experience, positioning it as a viable solution that contributes to the technological advancement of the region without displacing personnel, but rather improving their efficiency.
