Abstract
In beach and outdoor environments, theft of personal belongings remains a frequent concern due to the lack of surveillance and security systems. To address this problem, this project proposes the design and development of an automated umbrella with an anti-theft system, a smart solution aimed at improving security. The proposed umbrella integrates a set of technologies including two 180° surveillance cameras, a presence sensor, a vibration sensor, speakers, and a physical siren, all designed to detect and alert users to potential theft. Alerts are sent in real time via a mobile app, allowing users to monitor their belongings remotely. In addition, the umbrella is equipped with USB ports for charging electronic devices, powered by a built-in battery and magnetized solar panels. This system not only improves security, but also promotes the use of smart technology in everyday outdoor experiences. Preliminary tests indicate a high level of interest from users and a positive reception of the concept as an effective response to theft-related issues in public environments.
