Abstract
This article presents the findings of a systematic review on the application of artificial intelligence in risk assessment and its impact on financial investments during the period 2020–2025. The PICO technique and the Prisma method were used to screen the selected articles for analysis, taking into account inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results show that most of the articles address the correlational method, are recently published, and originate from Ecuador, China, and Colombia. Bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer demonstrated that both the concepts and the authors align with emerging areas of research and reflect a growing trend in the literature on this topic. It also reveals increasing academic interest in the subject since 2021, with a higher concentration of publications between 2021 and 2023, demonstrating an upward trend in the incorporation of advanced technological tools in the financial sector. It is concluded that AI in financial investments has demonstrated an impact on three factors (technical, ethical, and compliance), which are necessary for reducing uncertainty, optimizing resource allocation, and anticipating adverse events in business decisions.
