Abstract
This study analyzes the boarding process at the Cajamarca Land Terminal using a discrete-event simulation model developed in ProModel software. The research used a quantitative approach and a pre-experimental design, assessing the system’s current situation and an improvement proposal aimed at reducing waiting times in the check-in process. The results show the presence of queues and high dwell times that affect service efficiency. The improvement proposal, based on implementing a check-in system with a QR code reader, reduced service times, achieving a 34.01% decrease in the boarding process time.
