Abstract
This research study is based on applying an improved oil recovery (IOR) method in a mature oil field in Northwestern Peru that has a production history of more than 100 years. The objective of this research is to explore the potential benefits of technologies such as waterflooding, gas flooding, lower salinity water injection and water alternate gas by increasing oil production and recovery factor in Pariñas reservoir of faulted block around 2779 well , Six Mile Pool, Block I, Talara Basin in Peru. With the analyzed data, the construction of static and dynamic models is carried out, and the results of the analytical and numerical simulation are discussed in order to evaluate the opportunity to apply the most suitable improved recovery method in the case study field. This document recognizes, analyzes and proposes a different approach of reservoir managament by providing a new use for excess gas production and/or disposed water, contributing with also improving environmental footprint of a mature field.
