Abstract

The use of construction waste as a partial replacement for traditional materials is a sustainable alternative in the construction industry. This study evaluated the influence of partially replacing fine aggregate with construction waste in concrete for rigid pavements in the San Pedro Human Settlement, using a quantitative approach and an experimental design. Mixtures with substitution levels of 0%, 20%, 40%, and 60% were analyzed through compression strength tests, granulometry, and bulk density measurements. The results showed that a 20% substitution significantly improves compressive strength, exceeding 200 kg/cm² at 28 days, while higher substitution percentages reduce this property. In conclusion, incorporating 20% construction waste is the optimal option to balance sustainability and structural performance in rigid pavements.
