Abstract

This article addresses the organizational challenges faced by female Information Systems engineers to access managerial positions, taking as a case study the graduates of the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional Delta, during the period 2013-2023. The article presents the results of a survey applied to female engineers who graduated from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional Delta, with the purpose of analyzing their perception of career development. This survey has been complemented with secondary studies and various documentary sources, allowing a comprehensive approach to the problem of gender diversity in the professional field. The most relevant aspects regarding gender equity have been identified and analyzed, highlighting its advantages and implications in the professional development of female engineers. This article is part of a comprehensive research that examines the systemic barriers that limit women's professional advancement, considering cultural, organizational and structural factors that perpetuate gender inequalities and that determine how these barriers influence key moments in a woman's professional career, both in job placement and in transitions to leadership roles. From an organizational perspective, the research analyzes the implications of the lack of diversity at management levels and its impact on innovation, productivity and business competitiveness. At a social level, it explores how overcoming these barriers would contribute to reducing gender subordination and strengthening equity in the workplace.
