Abstract
Abstract– The purpose of this work was to analyze the social and economic impact of road infrastructure projects in Honduras, in order to propose the inclusion of a specific budget item for social impact in future infrastructure works. The general objective of the research was to evaluate how these projects improve access to services, mobility, and economic opportunities in the benefiting communities. The methodology employed combined a social impact analysis with a cost-benefit evaluation, using surveys and quantitative analysis of socioeconomic data. The results showed that, in addition to improving connectivity, the roads contributed to economic and social development in the areas of influence, enhancing the quality of life in the communities. The main conclusion emphasized the importance of considering a budget allocated for social impact, recommending that institutions integrate this approach into the planning of future infrastructures to maximize community benefits and ensure the sustainability of the projects.
