Abstract

The importance of the application of inventory management in a public entity in Chepén was demonstrated. The main objective was to improve the efficiency of the warehouse area through the design and application of the model where it incorporated practices aligned with the SDG “Decent Work and Economic Growth”. The study was applied, pre-experimental, with a quantitative approach and application level. The population was made up of the efficiency records for the year 2024 grouped into 8 weeks (from May to July and from August to September). The techniques used in collecting information were direct observation, documentary analysis and review of historical data. The study began with the collection of data on the output of products in the area, with that information the ABC analysis was carried out, subsequently with category A forecasts were made using the Minitab software and the optimal order quantity was determined. 5S facilitated the classification of materials, contributing to order, cleanliness, standardization and culture; In addition, an automated Kardex proposal was developed. In conclusion, the model increased efficiency by 50%, the student's T test validated the hypothesis, obtaining a significance level of 0.000.
