Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the compressive strength of concrete f'c= 210 kg/cm² with addition of 4%, 8% and 12% of diatomite and kaolin; for this purpose, a quasi-experimental design of the applied type was applied considering a sample of 63 cylindrical concrete specimens; in which, 9 specimens belong to the standard concrete and 54 specimens to the concrete with addition of diatomite and kaolin in percentages of 4%, 8% and 12%. Likewise, the values obtained for the compressive strength of the standard concrete at 28 days of curing were 247.44 kg/cm² and of the concrete with addition of diatomite at 4%, 8% and 12% were 320.49 kg/cm², 180.32 kg/cm² and 117.46 kg/cm² respectively; however, the values of the concrete with addition of kaolin at 4%, 8% and 12% were 303.44 kg/cm², 299.65 kg/cm² and 247.91 kg/cm² respectively. Finally, it is concluded that concrete with diatomite addition at 4% increases the compressive strength of concrete by 29.52% with respect to the standard concrete; similarly, concrete with kaolin addition at 4%, 8% and 12% improves the compressive strength by 22.63%, 21.10% and 0.19%, respectively.
