Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze blockchain technology in the traceability of shipments in courier companies in the province of Piura. A qualitative approach was used, through semi-structured interviews with managers and employees of companies in the sector, complemented by a documentary analysis on the use of blockchain in shipping logistics. The results indicate that, although most of the interviewees recognize the potential of the technology to improve traceability through characteristics such as immutability, security and transparency, its adoption is limited due to the lack of training and technological resources. However, companies that have implemented blockchain report significant improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This research concludes that the adoption of blockchain can transform logistics operations in the courier sector in Piura, offering important competitive advantages by optimizing delivery times and improving security in data management. Therefore, it is concluded that the effective implementation of blockchain would not only facilitate better traceability, but would also contribute to regional economic development by raising the standards of the messaging service.
