Abstract
Abstract– In the context of the global demographic increase and the growing adoption of new technologies in our daily lives, innovative systems are being developed in various sectors, including vehicle parking. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR), focuses on identifying technological advances in the Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensors, cameras with identification systems, as well as Big Data management, in order to thrive in the integration of Smart Parking. Seventy Scopus articles published as of 2019 were reviewed, of which 32 studies met the PICO model criteria. Within all the technologies analyzed, data and information management stands out as the most employed in the selected papers, underlining its crucial role in the implementation of smart parking solutions. The combination of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML), has significantly expanded the ability to process data, transforming it into useful information and improving the traditional processes present in parking lots. The integration of sensors and cameras with machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms facilitates vehicle identification, offering a robust and adaptable solution to the specific needs of each city.
