Abstract
The process of accreditation of university institutions constitutes a vital component in the search for educational excellence and continuous improvement of the services offered. In this context, this study focuses on analyzing the regulations pertinent to scientific research carried out by university faculty, recognizing their fundamental role in the generation and dissemination of knowledge. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and non-experimental design methodology was adopted to carry out the analysis, using a sample of 320 teachers from various public and private universities, selected for their experience in the accreditation process. The results obtained reveal the importance of the socialization of the accreditation process within the university institution, highlighting the need to promote a culture of quality management oriented towards the fulfillment of standards of excellence in the field of research. This implies an adequate planning and execution of the budget allocated to research, as well as the promotion of the training of new researchers committed to the highest standards of quality in their work, which not only contributes to the advancement of knowledge, but also to personal and institutional development.
