Abstract
Population growth and the lack of a drinking water and sewage system are a latent problem where the following research finds its mission in determining the technical efficiency for the treatment of domestic wastewater in the removal of Biochemical Oxygen Demand and Eschericia coli applying artificial wetland. The research methodology had a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional correlational design. In the first instance, the project works based on collecting information from databases with the objective of being able to analyze and compare results of the experiments carried out with the species Canna spp, Eichhornia crassipes and Lemna minor. Additionally, we worked with values obtained by implementing a small-scale artificial wetland with the species Canna spp. These samples are analyzed after 24 and 48 hours of treatment. After an analysis of the potential level of the species and the design of the wetland system, the species Canna spp was given as the best alternative for the Alberto Laveleau district, province of San Martin, San Martin Region, which obtained a removal percentage of 95.92. % Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and a percentage of 99.99% for Escherichia coli.
