Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the compressive strength of mortar by incorporating 3% and 6% of a non-Newtonian fluid (cornstarch mixed with water) in Cajamarca, 2023. The research was of an applied type with a quantitative approach. A total of 15 specimens were analyzed, divided into three groups: control specimens and specimens with a 3% and 6% dosage of non-Newtonian fluid. The instruments used for data collection were the protocols established in the laboratory of the Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) where the mortar tests were carried out. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of the student version of Excel. The results showed an inversely proportional relationship between the amount of non-Newtonian fluid and the compressive strength of the specimens. The traditional mortar or control sample obtained a strength of F`c = 89.43 kg/cm2, while the addition of 3% and 6% of non-Newtonian fluid resulted in a decrease in strength to 75.013 kg/cm2 and 39.664 kg/cm2, respectively.
