Abstract

Over the years, the way of learning has undergone several transformations, which has led educators to strive to adapt their teaching methods to the needs of students. At the same time, technology has evolved and adapted to the environment in people's lives, and one of these significant changes is in education. One of the contributions that has been adapted in education by technology is augmented reality. Therefore, we present a review that aims to present selected articles on the application of augmented reality in education is contributing positively, transforming the way of teaching, improving the performance of students in various aspects. Therefore, the review uses various articles that show the various technologies that contribute in the student field and how they contribute under methods such as gamification, contact platforms and applications. Giving as results that learning becomes attractive and even the awakening of interactivity in students through the manipulation of 4D objects, retaining information in a realistic way, inspiring students to learn at a pace where the process is more satisfying and less demanding as traditional learning, motivating the new generation to employ and adapt new technologies to develop their future professional life, improving the soft skills of students reinforcing teamwork as key in future collaborations in similar projects. The conclusion is that augmented reality gives elementary school students a novel experience, combining various elements in third dimension, through projections on various devices, improving the perception and understanding of information of many subjects that the student eventually study in a classroom.
