Abstract
The present work was elaborated with the objective of showing the impact of the implementation of a Layout Design and a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in a retail company dedicated to the sale of food, cleaning and personal care products in the city of Lima - Peru, as a result of the problems that arise; such as, the disorder in the storage area and the inaccuracy of inventories, which generate a monthly cost to the company of S/ 2,690.63 and S/ 3,383.20 respectively. To counteract the consequences generated by these problems, two alternative solutions were proposed for each case. After an evaluation using realistic constraints, the solution tools mentioned above (Layout Design and MRP) were chosen. Finally, an economic evaluation was carried out, resulting in a COK of 9.86%, an IRR of 48%, an NPV of S/ 7,091.81 and a B/C of 3.74.
