Abstract
The intensive use of fertilizers in agriculture has caused impacts on the soil, altering its quality. The objective of the review was to compile information that shows the physical, biological and chemical impact of the use of fertilizers on agricultural soils. The applied methodology was based on the PRISMA method and took into account the eligibility criteria, information sources, search strategies, study selection process, data extraction process, data list, risk of bias evaluation. and synthesis methods. The results showed the positive impact that organic fertilizers have at a physical, chemical and microbiological level, as well as their variation in effectiveness, compared to synthetic fertilizers. Likewise, the importance of more research is emphasized to achieve a greater understanding of the topic. In conclusion, the effect of fertilizers will vary depending on the type of fertilizer, the amount and the exposure time of these in agricultural soils.
