Abstract
The general objective of the educational innovation proposal presented is to explain how and to what extent the use of a mobile application based on Virtual Reality improves the communication of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder between 3 and 7 years old in an NGO. Due to the importance of developing communication in autistic children, it was decided to support the use of technological resources in order to improve their communication skills. The proposal is focused on the VR-based mobile application because it has several options of activities that the teacher, therapist or any specialized person can use in class sessions with autistic children. For this case, the Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Aptitude (ITPA) created by Samuel Kirk, James McCarthy and Winifred Kirk was selected. Based on the results obtained, a program for the development of these skills was developed. After the application of the program a significant progress of the students in the different psycholinguistic skills was achieved, however, it was not possible to match the psycholinguistic age with the chronological age
