Abstract
The objective of this investigation was to determine the physical and mechanical properties of standardized sand mortar and mortar with brick replacement in 10% and 15% with respect to fine aggregate, the research design is purely experimental, the research was based clearly on a sampling probabilistic by the investigator's judgment, for the data collection the protocols granted by the Universidad Privada del Norte were used as an instrument, for the analysis and processing of data it was carried out through statistical inference. 72 specimens were prepared for the tests at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days of curing, both for the standard sample and for the mortar made with the substitution of crushed brick in 10% and 15%, which is based on Standard E080. – Design and construction with reinforced earth of the National Building Regulations, where in item 8.1 of the aforementioned Standard indicates that the minimum number of samples for compression tests are 6 units for each witness, it was determined that the specimens made with substitution of 10% and 15% crushed brick present greater resistance after 28 days of curing with values of 264.10 kg/cm2 and 227.49 kg/cm2 respectively, it is concluded that the mortar made with the substitution of 10% and 15% crushed brick improves the physical and mechanical properties of the mortar made with standardized sand with an increase in compressive strength of 17.98% and 16.09%, in addition they exceed the compressive strength values of 13.72MPa (140 kg/cm2) minimum indicated by the Standard E070 – Masonry.
