Abstract
This work analyzes the evolution of 13 transversal management competencies in managers of the health sector in Chile, through a sample by conglomerates that totaled 160 senior managers of services identified as Central, Metropolitan, Southern and Southern Zones. The explicit interview method was applied through a structured questionnaire based on a 7-point Likert scale and the analysis of the professional, organizational and personal significance of their performances. The perception of achievement of the competencies was determined at two moments of the training, the first in the co-diagnosis phase at the beginning, and the second in the terminal phase of the evaluation of a training program. It was concluded that the evolution of the competencies between 2008 and 2009 are confirmed as achieved and in progress, such as Teamwork and Self-confidence, however, it highlights some challenges that are below average, such as Mastery. of Stress, Strategic Thinking and Negotiating Capacity.
