Abstract
This study explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance operational efficiency and customer experience in restaurants, especially in developing countries like Honduras. Through online surveys, interviews, and consultations with experts, a growing interest in the implementation of AI in this sector was found, with applications ranging from chatbots to dynamic menu generation. The ease of use of these tools, positive perception towards their introduction in menus, and high acceptance of customization in culinary experience were highlighted findings. Additionally, customer service was identified as the primary factor in restaurant choice, closely followed by ingredient quality and venue design. Qualitative analysis revealed operational challenges faced by restaurant managers, as well as their interest in implementing AI to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. In conclusion, the study suggests that AI has the potential to transform the restaurant industry in Honduras, offering opportunities to enhance competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
