Abstract
In the composting process, temperature, humidity and pH have a fundamental role, since they influence the growth and development of the microorganisms that carry out the process of decomposition of organic matter. The valorization of a biofertilizer (improving the chemical, biological and microbiological characteristics of the final product) is carried out as a strategy for the mitigation of climate variability, carried out within the framework of the research project funded by ColCiencias 794-2017 with registration code: 61982 I+D projects for the development of biologically based technology in the Department of Boyacá Colombia. In this article, an electronic device is described for the automatic recording of temperature, humidity and pH in real time, as an instrument to support the process of sampling, monitoring, testing and characterization of co-composting, which leads to obtaining a biofertilizer with harmless characteristics for the environment and public health. The device is designed to be low cost, its development is done with an Open Source Arduino Micro®, a DS18B20 temperature sensor, an HD-38 soil humidity sensor, a pH-4502C sensor module, a MicroSD module, a DS3231 digital calendar, an LM2596 DC Step Down voltage regulator, a 7.5Vdc 2200mAH Li-Po battery, and its manufacturing cost is less than US$100.
