Abstract
This article describes the monitoring of a dwelling located in a hot dry climate to obtain data to evaluate the thermal comfort of living. This study is carried out in a typical single-family house in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga in Colombia. A monitoring of the thermal performance is carried out, from which the temperature and relative humidity data is obtained for 30 days with 5-minute time intervals, with sensors located in the interior and exterior areas of the house. Likewise, with the data obtained from the monitoring, a thermal comfort analysis was performed using the Leonardo Hill and Morikofer-Davos methodology for the calculation of heat sensation and thermal comfort under the adjusted cooling power equation, used by the Colombian Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM). The results show a thermal sensation of dissatisfaction with more than 90%, with 1382.4 hours of very hot, 1151.6 hours of hot and 280.8 hours of warm thermal sensation. This research provides a reference case for future studies on the subject.
