Abstract
The paper details the evolution in the development of Strategic Planning at the Catholic University of Santa María and the transition from S.W.O.T. analysis. To the S.O.A.R., emphasizing the participation of various stakeholders. The S.O.A.R. analysis it is presented as an effective approach to simplify planning by focusing on strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results, allowing the identification of areas of improvement and the formulation of strategies. The analysis positively values the incorporation of risk analysis as a good practice to prepare the university to adapt and be resilient in a constantly changing educational environment.
