Abstract
The present work includes the evaluation of the technical and economic feasibility of improved oil recovery using micelles in the X-1 sandstone of the Wao Field of the Oriente Basin of Ecuador. To carry out this project, the static and dynamic conditions of the X-1 sandstone of the Wao Field were determined to subject it to a micelle injection pilot, the estimation of the volume of oil reserves recoverable by micelle injection using the EORgui® software and the calculation of the economic factors of implementing the pilot project and its profitability. As a result, it was determined that it is technically and economically feasible to carry out this pilot, which could obtain up to 2.1 MM STB of total oil using 4 well arrays with a ratio of 4 injectors per producing well and a sweep area of 240,000 m2 per pattern.
