Abstract

The objective of this work is to present the state of the art of Sciences, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Costa Rica, to achieve this we worked from the triple helix approach, making it known in the state, university and sector business about this concept. The methodology used was a compilation of material from the years 2017 to 2022, among which studies carried out in scientific journals and consultation of the websites of public and private institutions stand out. In this way, this work is intended to serve as a framework of reference for future studies in the STEM line that allows, in the long term, to propose strategic mechanisms to motivate more young people to study these disciplines and how to develop academic activities in these areas that provide more opportunities that impact Costa Rican society.
