Abstract
This research addresses the issue of aesthetics in Social Housing (SH) in the Peruvian context. The purpose is to study the convergence of aesthetics in the SH and its effect on urban development in the towns of Ica and Lima in 2023. Based on the fundamental principles of Vitruvius: form, function, and perception of the object of study, the methodology used is a qualitative, non-experimental study with an exploratory and descriptive scope. The results indicate that social housing is an unfinished project that creates urban degradation due to dynamics and aesthetic manifestations due to the subjectivity of the inhabitants. It must be considered that the samples are temporarily isolated cases and developed in totally different contexts, but they are all linked because the progressive developments seek to improve the original designs without any specific parameter.
