Abstract
The purpose of this study is to implement a new function package in R code for the access and analysis of data from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean CEPALSTAT. The methodology consisted of making use of the Open Data/API and generating queries that allowed obtaining the descriptions of the thematic areas, metadata and databases of each one of the indicators, in addition functions were included that allow the creation of frequency tables, charts and maps. The results of this article include visualization of some indicators that can be used through the CepalStatR package. Through this new package, a new tool is provided that facilitates access to an important database, which in turn will contribute to the research processes for users of the statistical language R.
