Abstract
The present investigation was carried out in a company that offers the service of washing plastic bags for the food sector, it was possible to demonstrate the relevance of Lean Manufacturing. The objective was to determine the effect of the application of Lean on productivity. The research methodology consisted of identifying the main problem, Analysis & diagnosis of the process and application of the Lean system (elimination of waste, generation of continuous flow, balancing activities and leveling of production). The type of study was experimental and applicative, with a quantitative approach. Tools such as the VSM, Pareto diagram, cycle time, Takt Time, Manufacturing Cells, 5'S, Shojinka and Heijunka were applied. Productivity increased by 29.2%, as well as installed capacity by 12.9% and inventories minimized during washing.
